Clocking in at a budget minded $19.99, RE2 for DC is a fairly attractive value for Dreamcast owners who haven't already played it on another platform. Well, Capcom isn't playing favorites and has decided to offer the game, again, on the Dreamcast. The game was originally released for the PlayStation, reissued with Dual Shock support, ported to the PC, and, surprisingly, crammed into a super-duper extra-large cartridge for the N64.
Leon, conveniently enough, must face all this chaos on his first day on the job, while Claire is looking for her brother Chris, who had set off to stop the evil organization Umbrella. It seems the T-virus has swept through the city and transformed the entire populace into flesh-hungry critters looking for the last few uninfected survivors. Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield are the main characters, and they find themselves trapped in Raccoon City, surrounded by zombies. So, is there any sort of list out there that details the difficulty changes, or even just the differences in detail? I'm still unclear about how many different costumes, extra modes, and ranks there are across version, and how to obtain them all.By this point, Resident Evil tale is a well-trodden one. I've also heard that the Japanese versions have different difficulties, and as a result are capable of reaching S Rank for the main game, where other language versions only have A Rank as the maximum rank. Does any version of the game include a Hard mode? I've read that the Dreamcast, and PC ports also have Nightmare difficulty as an option. I've been playing the PAL N64, and Gamecube versions of RE2, and they both have Normal and Easy mode, the Gamecube one has something called Arrange Mode, which only has Rookie difficulty as an option, and the N64 one has Randomize Mode. I was just wondering if there is a guide, or list somewhere that details all of the different difficulty settings for Resident Evil 2, across all the ports and region differences.
